Babson College Summer Study: Entrepreneurial Development Experience


Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp


Focus: Entrepreneurship and Business with end goal of pitching a new business venture

Age Eligibility: rising 11th graders (summer after 10th grade), rising 12th graders (summer after 11th grade), You must qualify or try out

Description from student participant: It was a great introduction to entrepreneurship and business. There is such a diverse group of students from around the world which enriched the experience even more. This program was also very helpful in dealing with group work that you would encounter in the work world.

Next Generation Scholars Summer Academy


Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp

What is official name of the program: Next Generation Scholars Summer Academy

Focus: Math, Language, 

Age Eligibility: You must qualify or try out, you have to apply and get in 6-12 grade

Financial aid available?: Yes

Description from student participant: Because for high school students they help you with college applications and they push you really hard in subjects you struggle in. This summer we visited Harvard University and while there we had the opportunity to talk to students who took courses we were interested in.

City College of San Francisco


Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp

What is official name of the program: City College of San Francisco Calculus

Focus: Lots of academic classes available but this student took Calculus

Age Eligibility: rising 9th graders (summer after 8th grade), rising 10th graders (summer after 9th grade), rising 11th graders (summer after 10th grade), rising 12th graders (summer after 11th grade)

Financial aid available?: Yes

Description from student participant: I took calculus at City College of San Francisco via concurrent enrollment. Every weekday for 6 weeks I went to ccsf and took math for about 3 hours straight. Since I greatly enjoy math, this was a very fun experience for me. (Obviously, math is not the only subject offered and said other students can take classes in whatever subject they enjoy most) Also, concurrent enrollment gives you credits

UC Davis COSMOS



Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp


What is official name of the program: UC Davis COSMOS


Focus: There are tons of options for different "clusters" in the COSMOS program. I did cluster 7, which is the biomedical sciences cluster.


Age Eligibility: rising 10th graders (summer after 9th grade), rising 11th graders (summer after 10th grade), rising 12th graders (summer after 11th grade), You must qualify or try out


Financial aid available?: Yes


Description from student participant: This program was great. It allowed me to explore the UC campus, their state-of-the-art facilities, as well as connect with people and learn more about biomedical topics and issues. The work we did was the same work that college students do. We learned lots of basic lab techniques and a lot about infectious disease and had numerous professional lectures from people in the field of veterinary med, human med, disease prevention, etc.


Where is the program: This program happens at all UC's that have the program, but I did the one specifically at UC Davis.

Berkeley Pre Colligate Summer Program

Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp


What is official name of the program: Berkeley Pre Colligate Summer Program


Focus: Lots of academic classes; in this case precalculus


Age Eligibility: rising 11th graders (summer after 10th grade), rising 12th graders (summer after 11th grade), You must qualify or try out

Description from student participant: By taking this class, I was able to skip AoF. I also got to have my first college experience.

Focus: All kinds of courses online for high school credit.

Description from student participant: I took Calculus through this online course.  I like Math so it was fun.
