Description from student participant: It is a cooking and baking camp where you can learn to cook foods that you wouldn't normally cook.

UC Davis COSMOS



Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp


What is official name of the program: UC Davis COSMOS


Focus: There are tons of options for different "clusters" in the COSMOS program. I did cluster 7, which is the biomedical sciences cluster.

Description from student participant: This program was great. It allowed me to explore the UC campus, their state-of-the-art facilities, as well as connect with people and learn more about biomedical topics and issues. The work we did was the same work that college students do. We learned lots of basic lab techniques and a lot about infectious disease and had numerous professional lectures from people in the field of veterinary med, human med, disease prevention, etc.


Where is the program: This program happens at all UC's that have the program, but I did the one specifically at UC Davis.

FC Barcelona Escola Camp

Type of Program:  Summer Enrichment Program or Camp


What is official name of the program: FC Barcelona Escola Camp


Focus: To enrich your soccer skills.

Description from student participant: I really like this camp. I've done for 5 years in a row and it's very good. It's 2 weeks of hard work and exercise that really ends up paying off. There also tours of the city, the stadium, and there are workshops in which we learn FC Barcelona tactics.

Great Books Summer Program

What is official name of the program: Great Books Summer Program

Focus: Reading and discussing difficult readings

Age Eligibility: Anyone from Bay can attend. There is an intermediate program (Middle school) and a senior program (High school).

Description from student participant: This program got me to feel more comfortable with sharing my ideas. It also helped me with making new friends from around the world. Some of my friends came from China, Korea, and India. You meet plenty of people and you learn a lot.

Where is the program: There are many locations such as China, Oxford, and Dublin, but I attended the Stanford University program

Proyect Asis

Description from student participant: There's a lot of lacrosse. It's a overnight camp and there is a lot of kids. I would suggest it because it really improves for lacrosse skills and you get to meet more people.

Description from student participant: It's a really amazing experience where you learn a whole new set of skills. NOLS has plenty of courses all over the world, I did a rock climbing expedition to Wyoming and it was incredible. The vast beauty of the Wind River Range coupled with some of the best climbing in the world was awesome.

Inspiring Girls Expeditions

Inspiring Girls Expeditions provides FREE expeditions to snowy glaciery places.  Girls learn outdoor snow skills while learning about the glacier environment.  Their current programs include trips to 1) Resurrection Bay in Seward, AK, Mt. Baker in the Cascades (WA), Central Alaska and Switzerland.
