College Intensive: programs offer rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit by engaging in challenging undergraduate level courses.  Grades earned establish an official academic record at GW and may be transferable, depending on the policies of the receiving institution. Summer Immersion: is full-day rigorous non-credit program for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Participants enroll in two-week programs that integrate lectures with guest speakers, experiential and applied activities. SUMMER IN THE CITY

Students take two courses of their choice over the span of four weeks. As part of the program, students both participate in admissions and career workshops and explore New York through class trips and excursions.  

LIBERAL ARTS INTENSIVE

For one week, students take one course of their choice in the morning.  Afternoons are free for students to explore what the city has to offer!

YOUNG WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Students delve into gender issues, social change, and leadership in this intensive one week program. Comprised of morning lectures and afternoon workshops, students develop a deeper understanding of leadership through a feminist lens.

DANCE IN THE CITY

In this rigorous ten day program, students explore dance from all angles.  From dance theory and history classes to technique classes at the Alvin Ailey Extension School, students have the opportunity to delve into the dance world from every perspective.  As part of the program, students have the opportunity to observe performances of some of the world's best and  perform their own work.

Community ServiceBased in small villages, work alongside members of the community on collaborative service projects focusing on infrastructure, education, and sustainability. Spend your days working alongside villagers and a team of students; and documenting your experience through photos, journals, and video. Collaborative community projects provide an opportunity for deeper cultural interactions and insight into daily life in our host communities.

Photo Workshops: National Geographic photography experts spend each day of the workshop with our students; teaching, shooting, and editing. We then work together to organize, curate, and install an exhibit featuring each student’s original work.

National Geographic on CampusBased on University of Colorado Boulder’s campus, delve into important global challenges and build skills in science, leadership, and storytelling to effect positive change in your local community. Throughout the program, you’ll participate in stimulating seminars, hands-on workshops, and active excursions. Institutes:
Our Institutes will take you on an eight-day intensive learning experience. You'll dig into a single subject through an accelerated, hands-on course that integrates field trips and guest speakers with discussion sections and collaborative work. Students can expect to amass a wealth of knowledge and college experience in a short amount of time. (Various dates between June 14 - Aug. 8)

Fundamentals: 
Explore a specific subject area and earn college credit in the process. Each of our Fundamentals programs take five weeks to complete and will introduce you to the dynamics of the college learning experience, which includes a combination of faculty lectures, classroom discussions and group projects in a subject of your choice. Summer College Courses:
If you are ready to dive directly into the college experience, there is no better way than through our Summer College Courses. Here, you choose courses specific to your interests from our vast undergraduate catalogue and study alongside our students in one of our five-week sessions while earning college credits. Summer Honors Intensive:
Seeking a more demanding program option? Our High School Honors Intensive program is open to highly motivated high schoolers seeking a comprehensive college experience. This five-week program will expose you to campus life while you engage in multiple college courses with our undergraduate students and provides the opportunity to earn up to 12 college credits by attending two sessions. (Session 1: May 31 - July 3) (Session 2: July 5 - Aug. 8)

College Prep:
Get a taste of college while preparing for the real thing. Our three-week College Prep program allows you to acquire a feel for campus living while getting an overview of key subject areas like English and math. You will also focus on building the skills necessary to succeed in college through topics like SAT Prep and Study Skills. As a Summer Hoya, you will be invited to our prestigious LaFarge Lecture Series, which allows you to attend thought-provoking seminars. (June 21 - July 11)

NAME OF PROGRAM: Sports Industry Academy
SHORT SUMMARY OF PROGRAM: The Sports Industry Academy Summer Program will provide an introduction to the $400 + Billion Sports Industry to mature andhighly talented high school students from across the country. Prominent sports executives will guide Scholars on the inner-workings of the sports industry. 

In addition to learning about the business of sports, Scholars will be provided with an introduction to the academic environment of U.C. Santa Barbara.  Scholars will receive an exclusive and comprehensive daylong workshop by a Senior Admissions Counselor on how to navigate the university admissions process, including keys on writing a “winning” personal statement
